Understanding the Hybrid Practice
According to recent reports, the number of hybrid financial advisory firms--those that charge clients fees and commissions--is expected to continue growing faster than any other kind of advisory firm. From 2004 to 2009, the number of dually registered advisors--people registered with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (Finra) as registered reps and with the SEC or states as RIAs--swelled from 7,120 advisors to 14,160. This nearly 100% increase represented the fastest-growing segment in the advisor industry. And the net headcount at dually registered hybrid firms grew at a compound annual growth rate of 14.7%, nearly three times that of firms with only registered investment advisors (RIAs).

In 2009, CFO Capital Partners adopted the Hybrid Practice. In 2010, Schwab Advisor Services saw 163 advisory teams transition to independence, representing $12.6 billion in assets under management. Approximately 20% of Schwab's existing RIA client base holds a dual registration. Since the financial crisis, more commission-only brokers have been converting their practices to those that charge a combination of fees and commissions. By focusing on needs early in the process, and finding a way to communicate this information clearly may lead to a long-lasting relationship between Clients and Ourselves.

Continuing to Expanding our Lending Foot Print
In January we became a Direct Lender/ Correspondent for Freddie and Fannie Multifamily Product we can fund in all 50 States. Fannie Mae provides multifamily financing for affordable and market-rate rental housing. Every day, Fannie Mae delivers economical, flexible and tailored financing for investors. In 2008 Fannie Mae invested over $35.5 billion in the multifamily affordable housing market. Eighty-nine percent of the homes and rental housing financed by Fannie Mae lenders are affordable to families at or below the median income of their communities. We operate nationally, in all multifamily markets and under all economic conditions.

All of our programs are institutional and we have a Nationwide footprint on most of our products. We can provide both Debt, Equity, Joint Venture Partners and Participation Loans with our Investors.

We are still providing several types of loans throughout the US including Canada, the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic from $350,000 - $55 million, higher on a case-by-case basis.  We will entertain International projects on a case-by-case basis. In addition to our Conventional Programs, all of the HUD acquisition, construction & permanent financing for Multi-family, Assisted Living, Senior and Affordable Living. 

Additionally we provide all of the SBA programs for owners including USDA, 504 real estate permanent financing and construction through our Banking relationships. We have been told the Treasury wants to make more of these loans available. We provide Mezzanine, Bridge and Hardmoney though our Fund Manager relationships. As a bi-product we will arrange financing for Equipment, PO Financing, Credit Lines and Accounts Receivables from $500k to $15MM

An increasing number of advisors transitioning to independence are selecting a hybrid practice model for their business. Advisors getting paid by commissions but who also want to offer fee services usually are dually registered advisors are registered with both the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (Finra) as registered reps and with the SEC or states as RIAs.
